2023-24 Club Season
Three Points of Emphasis
Getting off to a good start! This is no substitute for establishing the fundamentals early in the season. At most levels, teams run the same systems. The teams that are most successful simply execute the fundamental skills better. This is one of the reasons we have decided to start the Foundations Program.
Plan to be playing your best at the end! Playing your best at the end of the year follows a specific process that takes buy-in from top to bottom. Get your big rocks in place early. Stick to your pre-season, mid-season, and championship season plan.
Collaboration! The rising tide will lift all boats. If we work with other coaches and teams, it will not only benefit you, but others around you. Teams will share courts this year, but we need to sell this idea to our players, parents and peers.

September 23rd - Boys Coaching Clinic | 1:30p-7:00p
Content
1:30 - 3:00p | Boys Director Andrew Fuller will run coaches through a hands on demonstration on the technical skills and systems of our Foundations Program for the first portion of the clinic.
3:30-5:45p | Join our coaches in an opportunity to hear from some of your colleagues on systems or technical skills that have allowed them to get to where they are today as coaches.
6:00-7:00p | The conclusion of the session will show coaches how to effectively run your practices in a shared situation. Drills, objectives, and points each coach should look for to maximize their opportunity of improvement.
Join us for a social to kick the season off at Wings Etc. from 7:00-9:00p for appetizers and drinks!

All new coaches need to submit a bio. If you are a returning coach, please review your bio on the website. Any updates can be submitted through the form above or to Andrew directly.

Please complete the following in order to receive your free coaches gear. All styles are men’s sizes with the exception of practice shirts. Practice shirts are unisex.
All coaches must read and submit their compliance to the 2023-24 Coach Code of Conduct and Player & Parent Code of Conduct.
Financial Agreement
All coaches will receive a financial agreement that will include their full stipend amount and other important financial details. Please carefully review all information before signing and returning. Any questions about your financial agreement should be brought to the attention of your director.
This will be sent within two weeks following the conclusion of your tryouts. Coaches that had summer tryouts will receive their financial agreement by Friday August 11th, 2023.
Additional Information
Coaches need to make sure they have received or understand the following information. If you have not received the following information, please be sure to contact your location director. Some information may not be available until you have completed your on-boarding paperwork.
Coaching Staff
You have not received and exchanged contact information with your coaching staff for the 2023-24 club season.
Communication- PlayerFirst
PlayerFirst will be our communication tool with the families. PlayerFirst will be a centralized location for communication and schedules. New coaches will receive an invitation to the team. Previous coaches will have their information updated for the 2023-24 club season.
Communication- GroupMe
You have been added to GroupMe for your Location (The Academy Indianapolis) and General Information (The Academy Family).
Practice Schedule
You should have received your practice schedule along with your practice partners. The schedule will contain our Monday – Friday schedule. Weekend practices will vary from week to week based on tournament and facility schedules. We will share weekend practice times two weeks in advance whenever possible. This information will be made available on The Academy Coaches Website under your locations tab or program.
Tournament Schedule
Tournament schedules are available upon request. Please keep in mind some events cannot be confirmed until our teams are accepted into the event. Additionally, we will make changes to the schedule to avoid team conflicts whenever possible. If you have a conflict with an event, please email Jack Lesure (girls) or Andrew Fuller (boys). Coaches an families are NOT to make any travel arrangements until they have been authorized by The Academy.
PRACTICE SCHEDULE
Court Sharing
Teams will be sharing courts this year for a variety of reasons. We believe that collaboration, positional training, and competitive environment are key to team development. Teams will share with a consistent team for the entire club season. We expect coaches and teams to work and train together. The weekly schedule and court assignment is listed below.
Weekend Practice Schedule
The Sunday practice schedule will be communicated at least two weeks ahead of time. Please be sure to speak with your families as soon as the schedule is completed. Teams will have their own court during their weekend practice whenever possible.

Substitute Coaches
In the event that you can not be in attendance for practice or a tournament it is your responsibility to find a substitute coach to fill in for you. Utilize the Sub Coach Directory to quickly find someone willing to fill in for you. If you’d like to submit availability to substitute coach please fill out the Sign Up to Sub Coach form. Finally if you did substitute coach for some please fill out the Sub Coach Pay Submission form to receive payment.
Coach Pay Dates
All coaches will be paid starting October 15th. The coaching stipend will be divided in equal installments through the last month of their season.
